The Tennessee River (including Chickamauga Lake) is a sight for sore eyes and hungry bellies. With a plethora of dine-in restaurants along its banks, the river offers a range of options for eating and drinking. From fine-dining restaurants to casual sit-down spots, there are endless possibilities for food and views: There are restaurants with boat docks, and eateries with riverfront patios. There are places for a fancy dinner with a view or just a cocktail after kayaking.

Skaters of all ages frequent the Chattanooga Skate Park with their boards in hand, ready to ride the ramps of chipped wood and well-used surfaces. "It's where we all grew up skating, so there's lots of nostalgia tied in with it and a lot of love for that place," said Nick Moore, an avid skater and owner of the Cassette Skateshop in St. Elmo. Fading graffiti adorns the ramps, and camaraderie shows among skaters between tricks.

Today, you can find Jocelyn Aguilera-Nielsen greeting guests at the door of her clothing shop, North Star Boutique, but years ago, she greeted the women of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, as they walked the streets selling warm, homemade corn tortillas.
