Structure and self-association of Arrestin-1
Arrestins are multifunctional proteins that not only bind to activated phosphorylated GPCRs to stop G protein signaling, but also participate in G protein-independent signaling. Several structures of arrestin-1 (ARR1), ARR3, and ARR4, as well as a plethora of structures of ARR2, including their GPCR-bound states (Tables 1, Tables S1, and S2), have provided a detailed picture of the structure/activity relationships of arrestins.
