After operating as a pop-up for several months, De Prato Ristorante now has a permanent space in DTLA. The white-tablecloth Italian restaurant-run by the former chef of NYC's Etrusca-offers a $135 per person tasting menu for the table, but also serves an a la carte menu. Expect colorful riffs on traditional Tuscan dishes like chicken liver pate with marsala, spaghetti with olive and rockfish, and grilled rabbit, plus lots of Italian wine.

This Indian and Pakistani restaurant from Fullerton opened in Hawaiian Gardens earlier this year, and now it's dropped another location in the heart of Santa Monica. As with the original, it's completely halal and alcohol-free, with a menu of South Asian staples such as kebabs, butter chicken, palak paneer, and biryani. Look for some fusion-y dishes, too, like the Sloppy Khan (keema pav made with spiced wagyu). We haven't been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists.

Wigz Sandwich Shop - Review - Laguna Beach - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

Every beach town needs a go-to spot for beach sandwiches. For Laguna, that's Wigz, a tiny shop within walking distance of the water that makes the best deli sandwiches in town. Expect to see sunburned surfer bros stopping by in flip-flops for "grinders" on extra-craggy dutch crunch rolls from neighboring Bread Artisan Bakery.
