Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes, I brought a typewriter to school my freshman year of college, then worked all summer to buy my first computer for my sophomore year.

How is social media changing news?

Social media gives more people voices and speeds up the spread of news, but there is still a role to curate and analyze all the information.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

That's easy. Lois Lane.

Why did you become a journalist?

I loved to read and I admired writers so much. But the most importantly, it is a job where you are constantly learning and discovering.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

In 7th grade I wanted to be a reporter and began worked on the school paper straight through school. By senior year, I was the editor.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Never stop being curious and never stop writing.
