NYPD searches for suspects after deadly stabbing in Brooklyn
Police on Saturday evening were searching for two men connected to a deadly stabbing in East Flatbush, Brooklyn that killed 25-year-old Christopher Davey. Authoritie say someone dialed 9-1-1 to report an assault in front of 882 Albany Ave. When first responders arrived, they found Davey bleeding from two stab wounds to the torso. Police said Davey lived just a few blocks away. Surveillance video taken Friday showed laundry bags on the ground next to crime scene tape.
Robin Morgan, poet and feminist who is credited with coining ‘herstory,' dies at 85
Robin Morgan, a wholesome child star of the 1940s and ‘50s who grew up to become an all-American radical as a poet, essayist, editor and second-wave feminist, has died. She was 85. Morgan, who was still working on new books and poems, died Saturday in New York after suffering a series of health problems in recent weeks, said her son, Blake Morgan. Her death came just days after that of her close friend and fellow activist Gloria Steinem.

Less than a week before New York and the world officially mark 25 years since the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks, there is a new and permanent honor for a fallen NYPD officer who was only minutes away from retirement when planes hit the twin towers. A street corner at East 101st Street and Madison Ave. in East Harlem is now named “John William Perry” Way. Of the 23 NYPD officers killed on 9/11, Perry was the only one who was off-duty.
Junior carnival parade kicks off West Indian Day festivities ahead of Monday

A 4-year-old girl was hospitalized with critical injuries after she was struck by a Bridgeport police cruiser that was responding to a call Wednesday night, according to the city's public information officer. The crash happened around 9:36 p.m. Wednesday night on Hanover street. The officer driving the cruiser was responding to a report of a mob attacking a woman at Went Field Park when the police cruiser struck the child., according to the city.
Man duct-taped to plane seat after hurling slurs and attacking other passenger, witness says
A passenger aboard a Newark, New Jersey-bound American Airlines flight was duct-taped to his seat on Thursday and later arrested after allegedly hurling racial slurs at staff and fighting with another man. The passenger was “thrashing around” in his seat as the flight crew and other passengers tried to restrain him at the rear of the first-class cabin, according to witness Michelle Ng-Reyes.
