ALEXANDRIA — It only took the Alexandria Junior Legion Red 17U team five innings to beat the Marshall Junior Legion 17U team by a score of 12-1 at Knute Nelson Memorial Park. This was the first of two games on Saturday, July 11, for Alex Red as they play in the 2026 Bernie Classic Junior Legion Tournament. The next game for Alex Red is at 8:30 p.m. Saturday against New Ulm.

ALEXANDRIA — It was a tough loss for the Alexandria Junior Legion Black team Friday, July 10, as they lost 7-1 to Cold Spring Post 6915. This was the first game in the 2026 Bernie Classic Junior Legion Tournament. The team will play two games on Saturday, July 11. The first, at 3:30 p.m., will be against Hutchinson with the second at 6 p.m. against Elk River.

With that in mind, in November 2025, the Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Pride of the Lakes, made the switch from paper checks to plastic gift cards.
