Celtics Direct

So where does this leave us? The Celtics can not pick up his option next year which will give them an extra million dollars which is essentially worthless in this next year and if teams haven’t learnt that not picking up options can come back to bite you ask the Charlotte Hornets if they wouldn’t mind having Biombo back on their pay role (also they cant offer him as much as other teams) and the last thing they need as a franchise is to let him walk and him become a star or even a starter.

The real question that comes into play for the Celtics when looking at Murray as our number 3 is how is he going to fit in our system? I don’t need to sit here and tell you that we already have too many guards. We all know this. Will the Celtics be able to clear space for Murray to get some playing time? Do we really need another combo guard? Can Murray play good enough defense to be the 2 alongside Isaiah at the 1? These are things Ainge will be thinking long and hard about.

Steph Curry is changing the game - or already has changed it. Since the addition of the three-point line in 1980, the small guy finally had an offensive weapon that didn't require him to bang bodies inside the paint to dominate games. It's easy to forget that the NBA once only belonged to the biggest and strongest players around - Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Kareem and Karl Malone.
