Lyman Gilmore Middle School boys 8th grade basketball team left nothing on the court on Thursday as they faced off against the Magnolia Rattlers in the championship game at Nevada Union’s Ali Gym. The Bombers went into the game undefeated, but they knew they had their work cut out for them as the Rattlers too came to win. Lyman Gilmore and Magnolia faced each other earlier in the season and a hard fought, close game ensued. None was more close or harder fought than the culmination on Thursday.

I’ve been with The Union for almost 10 years, and during my tenure I worked for and with Julia Stidham, our previous publisher, the entire time. Hands down, she was the best manager I’ve ever had. She knew this company better than anyone. She decided that after 23 years with The Union it was time for her to move on and we all wish her the absolute best. She will be missed. Before Julia, Don Rogers was our publisher for six years.
