Warrant issued for assault and break and enter

An active search is underway for a man wanted in connection with two break-and-enters at the same home in King Township. York Regional police have issued a warrant for 31-year-old Kenion Tapsie of no fixed address. Investigators say the suspect allegedly broke into a home in the Keele Street and Davis Drive area on Saturday, assaulting two people before fleeing the scene.

Helicopter in Orillia assists OPP’s search for wanted man

The sounds and sights of OPP helicopters were present in Orillia today as investigators search for a wanted suspect. A large police presence was seen on Barrie Road as officers conducted a targeted search tied to an ongoing criminal investigation. The Orillia OPP detachment says it is looking for a man wanted in connection with the case and are using the OPP Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, and the OPP helicopter.
