Abstract Myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MIRI) is a life-threatening complication of myocardial infarcts, with inner mitochondrial membrane protein dysfunction involved in MIRI-induced heart injury. The role of outer mitochondrial membrane protein mitochondrial antiviral signaling protein (MAVS) is unknown. Here, we show that MAVS expression increases in infarcted myocardium of male wild-type mice.
CXCL5 activates CXCR2 in nociceptive sensory neurons to drive joint pain and inflammation in experimental gouty arthritis - Nature Communications
Abstract Gouty arthritis evokes joint pain and inflammation. Mechanisms driving gout pain and inflammation remain incompletely understood. Here we show that CXCL5 activates CXCR2 expressed on nociceptive sensory neurons to drive gout pain and inflammation. CXCL5 expression was increased in ankle joints of gout arthritis model mice, whereas CXCR2 showed expression in joint-innervating sensory neurons.
Design of an ultra-broadband and low-loss 3 dB power splitter from the 1.25 to 2.04 µm wave band
Abstract As a key component of the beam splitting and combining in photonic integrated circuits, an optical power splitter requires the characteristics of compactness, broadband, and low loss. Here, we propose a ${1} \times {2}$ ultra-broadband 3 dB power splitter with a 5 µm long beam splitting area, based on the structure of a subwavelength grating. The 0.45 dB bandwidth of the TE mode achieves 790 nm from 1.25 to 2.04 µm.
