Economics researcher for the Yomiuri Shimbun's DC bureau. I spent my first year after university covering Trump-era trade and fiscal policy.
How is social media changing news?
It provides a platform for journalists to show our work, not just to promote stories but shed light on our reporting practices to the public
Why did you become a journalist?
A passion for international relations, learning languages and talking to strangers inspired my goal to become a foreign correspondent.
