1 Introduction As a multi-faceted construct, empathy was defined as the social, cognitive, and affective processes involving the capacity to understand other’s emotions or reflecting other’s concerns (1). Benefits of empathy were found in various domains for healthcare professionals. For example, medical students with higher empathy showed better mental health and better communication skills (2). Empathy was also found to benefit social adaptation and clinical practice for doctors (3).
