ENGLEWOOD — The weather balloon launched by local middle schoolers and ham radio experts in February has officially ended its circumnavigational reign. Last week, the Englewood Amateur Radio Society announced an “end of life” notice for Pico Balloon N4EAR-1, a balloon launched four months ago with SKY Academy Englewood. It was most likely taken out by a Cat 1 storm, named Jangmi, said EARS President Bill Reed, that was in the proximity of N4EAR off the east coast of Japan on June 2.
