Biomechanical effects of traditional Chinese exercises on scoliosis: a combined finite element and surface electromyography analysis
Abstract Objective: To investigate the effects of two specific traditional Chinese exercise movements—“Lu Di” and “Jiu Gui Ba Ma Dao”—on spinal biomechanics and trunk muscle sEMG characteristics, elucidating their potential corrective mechanisms for idiopathic scoliosis. Methods: A Lenke type 1 scoliosis finite element model (T1-S1) was developed by applying mesh deformation techniques to a healthy adult spine model.
Development and validation of a preoperative nomogram for predicting contralateral occult carcinoma and central lymph node metastasis in T1b-T2 stage papillary thyroid carcinoma
Abstract Background: Thyroid cancer is one of the fastest-growing malignancies worldwide, with papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) accounting for approximately 85-90% of all cases. For patients with T1b-T2 PTC, the choice between thyroid lobectomy and total thyroidectomy remains controversial. Postoperative pathological examination reveals contralateral occult carcinoma in 20-40% of patients, while contralateral central lymph node metastasis (CLNM) represents a key prognostic factor.

Biomechanical phenotypes of unilateral versus bilateral anterior knee pain: evidence from walking kinematics, kinetics, and symmetry indices
Abstract Background: Anterior knee pain (AKP) is a common musculoskeletal condition with heterogeneous presentations, including unilateral and bilateral symptoms. Although altered gait biomechanics have been reported in AKP, it remains unclear whether unilateral and bilateral AKP exhibit distinct biomechanical phenotypes, particularly in terms of interlimb asymmetry.

SentDep: Pioneering Fusion-Centric Multimodal Sentiment Analysis for Unprecedented Performance and Insights
Temporal information is paramount in understanding the evolution of sentiments in multimodal data, especially in videos where the sentiment may vary over time. In this subsection, we delve into the effect of incorporating temporal information into our SentDep model on the CMU-MOSI and CMU-MOSEI datasets. We carry out experiments under different settings: without temporal information, with static temporal information, and with dynamic temporal information.

The impact of migration characteristics on rural migrant households’ farmland use arrangements in China
Loading metrics Open Access Peer-reviewed Research Article Abstract This paper investigates the impacts of migration characteristics on rural migrant households’ farmland use arrangements in China. The results reveal that trailing migration, duration of migration and the proportion of co-migrants have a significant effect on the probability of rural migrant households’ farmland abandonment. Commercial employment migration has a negative impact on the abandonment of farmland by migrant families.

Visualization of fast “hydrogen pump” in core-shell nanostructured Mg@Pt through hydrogen stabilized Mg3Pt
Visualization of fast “hydrogen pump” in core-shell nanostructured Mg@Pt through hydrogen stabilized Mg3Pt Chong Lu, Yanling Ma, Fan Li, Hong Zhu, Xiaoqin Zeng, Wenjiang Ding, Jianbo Wu, Tao Deng and Jianxin Zou Abstract A core-shell nanostructured Mg@Pt composite, consisting many of icosahedral Mg particles as the core with nano-sized Pt particles distributed homogeneously on different surfaces, was synthesized through an arc plasma method followed by the generic solid-state method.
