Until the middle of last month, like many of you, if we had heard the expression 'phone slamming' we would have assumed it referred to the practice of slamming the phone receiver down following a particularly angry exchange... then again in these times of mobiles and handsets it is pretty much a lost art. These days, 'phone slamming' refers to a practice whereby a phone company will request a phone line from a rival company for one of its own customers.

F1's technical boss Ross Brawn has apologised for the numerous issues that blighted the first race weekend of the sport's new live streaming service. As previously reported, fans around the world were left frustrated by a whole range of issues surrounding the service whose original launch for the season opener in Melbourne was scrapped as the service underwent further testing.

F1's commercial boss Sean Bratches has revealed that it had been proposed to move Silverstone's slot on the 2019 calendar in order to celebrate the 1,000th Grand Prix. However, the move would have meant hosting the event in April, which for those who attended in 2000, when the Grand Prix was moved to an earlier slot, will bring back bad memories.
