CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A Heat Advisory has been issued for central/eastern Hampden, Hampshire, & Franklin County from 11 a.m. Tuesday to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Temperatures are forecast to reach the mid-to-upper 90s, with a heat index that could make it feel like 100 degrees. There is also a slight risk of severe thunderstorms on Tuesday. The prolonged period of intense heat is expected to bring record-breaking temperatures on Tuesday.

Air Quality Alert issued for Hampden and Hampshire counties

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – An Air Quality Alert is in effect for Hampden and Hampshire counties until 11 p.m. on Monday. Monday will be another partly to mostly sunny and very warm day with highs getting up into the upper 80s to around 90 degrees. Humidity levels are also expected to rise throughout the day. Air quality sensors are set up all around western Massachusetts, such as one at the Springfield Museums, to measure air quality in your area.

Weather Alert issued for severe thunderstorms Tuesday in western Massachusetts

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The 22News Storm Team has issued a Weather Alert for thunderstorms expected Tuesday afternoon and evening. Some storms could become severe, bringing strong gusty winds, heavy downpours, reduced visibility, and potentially very small, isolated hail. The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center lists the local severe weather risk as level two out of five for this period. Current temperatures across the region reflect a warm start to the day.
