What was your first job as a journalist?
Freelance writer for various auto blogs.

No, but I'd love to learn.

Making it easier and faster to access, more raw, and affecting how society consumes information greatly.

I never knew such a thing existed...
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Depends on the type of journalist as there are many many types. But the most thing in common is to have a high regard to telling the truth.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
I prefer to be asked to write the stories rather than try and sell them myself. It helps substantiate and validate what I do.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Whatever makes doing it the easiest.
What's your favorite social network?
None of them. But if I had to choose, Instagram.
Who do you wish followed you?
The people I work with. I seem to be invisible.
Why did you become a journalist?
So I could pursue my passion for automobiles by writing and taking photos about them.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Yes, I wrote car-related stories aimed at teenagers/new drivers, like how to buy your first car.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Too many to list but many of the car reviews I produce, and my buyer's guide for Hagerty for the W116 Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Do your job to the best of your ability, do what you think is right, and always remember perspective is everything.
When's the best time to pitch you?
All the time.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
Reviewing the 2018 Ferrari GTC4Lusso on a press trip in Canada.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Don't really have one. I love what I do greatly because I get to pursue my passion for cars, airplanes, and photography.
What's your favorite drink?
Coffee or unsweet tea.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
On the road behind the wheel of my own personal car or a car I'm testing, or behind the camera.

Too many to list.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
...that I don't have experience when I have over 10 years of it.
