RT @UNSWCityFutures: On CityBlog now: why we need a new regulatory model for shared accommodation - our submission to the NSW govt revie… https://t.co/IEHH67TZYK
Where a person shares their housing - with the landlord, or another person chosen by the landlord - there are particular risks that require regulation. We should build on existing boarding houses law to create a comprehensive Shared Accommodation Act.  https://blogs.unsw.edu.au/cityfutures/blog/2019/10/towards-a-shared-accommodation-act-city-futures-submission-to-the-review-of-the-boarding-houses-act-2012-nsw/
@LeoPatRoss ‘Boarding home’, if you please. More terminological confusion and no one any the wiser. They’re blocks of very small flats and we should have a public discussion about whether they’re good enough, without confusing it with the distinct regulation we need for boarding houses.
Even the hard-heads at @ozprodcom think 'residential tenancy laws should give vulnerable renters greater certainty'. This and more in their new research paper on private rental housing.  https://www.pc.gov.au/research/completed/renters
