What was your first job as a journalist?

It was unpaid, working full-time as an intern reporter for a Eugene, Oregon television station.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes. My parents had one throughout my childhood.

How is social media changing news?

Social media has somewhat made news easier to find, share and view, but in many respects it hasn't helped increase understanding.

Why did you become a journalist?

I like informing people of what's going on and why it's important.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

Coverage of the fatal police shooting of James Boyd. The effect of the incident on the city can still be seen in ABQ.
