The F-11 Blue Angels jet at Lawson Creek Park is getting a makeover just in time for the Fourth of July. The plane that welcomes people into the city of New Bern has a fresh coat of paint. Painters were in Lawson Creek Park putting the finishing touches on the plane Thursday afternoon. It took them three days to put a fresh coat of blue and yellow paint on the plane. City officials say New Roots Historic Restoration, LLC, was contacted after it was noticed the paint was fading.
