Motocross Utah's Most Righteous Ridgeline Singletrack
Just outside Caineville, Utah, lies Swing Arm City, a 2,600-acre hot spot for off-road junkies. The destination boasts countless hills, precipitous drop-offs, and ridgeline singletrack trails, along with some of the country’s biggest natural jumps. Tom Parsons, a 38-year-old motocross rider, has made the trek there from his Florida home numerous times. One recent August, he and Chris Tedesco, a Denver-based photographer, spent three days in the 100-degree heat, crisscrossing the moonlike landscape.

Jack rode the 2017 TC 85 in stock form first to get a good feel of what we had and where we wanted to go with it. The feel of the cockpit was well liked immediately. The bike felt narrow between the legs, its seat seemed long and fairly flat, and the controls were well positioned and with that great hydraulic clutch that’s easy to pull.

We are in the process of testing for our 2018 250cc MX Shootout and will have the full results posted on the website once it’s completed. Until then, here are a couple of opinions about two of the bikes from a previous day at the track. This showdown is between 2017’s shootout winner, Yamaha’s YZ250F, and Suzuki’s RM-Z250. The Yamaha YZ250F has been a favorite among the Dirt Rider testers for several years now.

In 1975 Herve Poulain, a racing enthusiast and art lover, persuaded sculptor and mobile artist Alexander Calder to paint German automaker BMW's entry at Le Mans. The car was pulled out part-way of the 24-hour French road race due to a defective prop shaft, but it has continued as a display piece - effectively one of Calder's last artworks before his death in 1976.It also launched a tradition that BMW continues to this day, with the recent unveiling of the 19th addition to the BMW Art Car series.
