What was your first job as a journalist?

My first byline was with the Tribune Times, a community paper in Simpsonville, S.C. I learned on the job after leaving law practice!

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yep. And White Out.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

(This changes!) Currently, the gaggle on the reimagined "Battlestar Galactica." Still chasing the best stories, even at the end of the world!

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

Too many to name! I am most proud when I can touch someone's life in a meaningful way.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Diversify, write, read, be kind (always, always kind).
