A HERITAGE group has called for Bradford's “expansive collection” of works by an acclaimed sculptor to go on public display. Last week, Bradford Council announced that a conservation expert had been brought in to draw up plans to remove and retain a mural by William Mitchell that is currently fixed on the inside of Kirkgate Market.

RESIDENTS of one ward in Bradford will go to the polls on Thursday, with three seats on the council up for grabs. While 29 of Bradford district's 30 wards elected their councillors in early May, the Idle and Thackley election was postponed due to the death of longstanding Councillor Jeanette Sunderland (Lib Dem), who was standing for re-election. The vote will now take place in that ward on Thursday (June 18).
