ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — TODAY: Not as muggy of a start warms to seasonable levels. Heat indices max out between 100-105. Scattered showers and storms develop south this afternoon. A few may be strong with gusty winds and heavy downpours. A few showers may lift north to highway 82 this evening. TOMMOROW: More seasonable heat with a few showers and storms by the afternoon. WEEKEND-EARLY WEEK: Much wetter and cooler with a Marginal Risk of Flash Flooding. 1″-3″ of rain is expected.

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — TODAY: FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY 11am-9pm: Muggy start in the upper 70s, warms to the lower 90s midday and upper 90s this afternoon. It will be very humid sending heat index (Feels Like) numbers near 105 midday and near 110 this afternoon. Scattered thunderstorms move north to south afternoon to evening. There’s a Slight/Marginal Risk that the storms will produce a damaging wind gust, dangerous lightning and heavy downpours.

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — TODAY: FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY 7/28/2026: Noon-8pm for Dangerous Heat. Highs will reach near 100° and heat index values near 110. A milder start heats all day thanks to extra sunshine and a very low rain chance. TOMORROW: Strong afternoon storms arrive by afternoon to break the intense heat. There’s a Marginal to Slight Risk of Severe Storms from 2pm-8pm. The damaging wind threat is up to 15% along Highway 319 & Highway 82 Southeast.
