Why is it that the Holocaust is the only genocide consistently taught in our schools? While it is important that we remember the horrors of the Holocaust, our education on mass atrocities seems to stop there, as if it is the only genocide that deserves our attention. What about the Armenian Genocide? The Rwandan Genocide? The genocide of Indigenous peoples across the Americas? The transatlantic slave trade, which systematically annihilated cultures, families, and human lives?

Just opened LinkedIn to write a post and it asked me if I'd like to write something with AI. Nope. I really enjoy using ML tools in my day to day. From photo enhancement, voice to text, ideation, or even image generation that I can cut and paste into my digital collages (see below). But when it comes to writing I really enjoy being me in my words. And I hope you can see that it's me when I write.

Photography has been the mainstay of everything I do. It's how I started. It's always been tied to my podcasting and more recently my weekly email on https://lnkd.in/eAAXP8vX. But now I'm writing something more long form I'm having to dig out old negatives. Scanning them to jog memories of past adventures has me falling back in love with this slower more considered way of documenting the moment. What better way is there of capturing 'time's relentless melt'.
