INTRODUCTION Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a multisystem autoimmune disorder with a prevalence of approximately 72 per 100,000 individuals in the United States.1 SLE affects various organs, including the skin, joints, kidneys, central nervous system, and cardiovascular (CV) system. Lupus nephritis (LN), a severe manifestation of SLE, occurs in nearly half of patients and is associated with a 10-year mortality rate of up to 30%.
