The victory over Nazism, on May 8th 1945, was celebrated in France with a traditional parade, organized by the Russian Embassy, in collaboration with different organizations, and communists, gaullistes, and patriots whose ancestors fought in the Resistance. Among the participants were the descendants of those who gave their lives in this struggle, and who marched in the parade, carrying the portraits of their ancestors killed by the Nazis in the war.
