ECU students travel to Washington D.C.

Earlier this semester, nine students in the East Central University Department of Politics, Law, Society traveled to Washington, D.C., to participate in the DC Internship Experience 2026. The trip was largely supported by the Harris Travel Fund, a fund created by former ECU History professor Dr. James Harris. He desired for ECU students to travel broadly to enrich their educational experiences. Additional funds were added by President Wendell Godwin and the President’s Circle.

Advocacy Training Offered at ECU

On Tuesday, May 12, the City of Ada Multiculturalism Committee teamed up with the American Civil Liberties Union to present a workshop titled, "Becoming a Better Local Advocate: Advocacy 101 Training." The non-partisan training helped citizens see how their personal experiences might be used to talk with representatives about issues they care about.
