This Week…Comfort Food For My Neighbor These past few weeks, I’ve been taking a meal or muffins to our neighbor who is ill. I know his wife, Pat, is a great cook, but she’s tired and has more on her mind than what’s for dinner. While searching for an easy casserole (because they’re easier to share), I found one I hadn't made in many years. Grandma’s Hamburger Casserole is one I’m sure has passed through many families in as many different forms. As with most savory dishes, nothing is set in stone.

This past week, we got an advance notice about a Port Jefferson house that was about to be listed with another agent. We immediately called our buyers. They jumped in the car and went to see it. The location was beautiful with water views, a cul-de-sac and a great setting. But the house needed significant work, and our buyers weren’t convinced it was the right opportunity. They’re still thinking about it. And that’s real estate. Having buyers ready doesn’t mean they’ll buy every house.

Adult Bike and E-Scooter Classes in September, October, and November The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is offering low-cost adult bike classes and free e-scooter drop-in sessions in September, October, and November. The classes will include nine Learn to Ride and one Basic Skills class, and two free, walk-up e-scooter classes following select bike classes.
