Building the next generation: Aviation Youth initiatives in Teton Valley
Aviation youth initiatives are playing an increasingly important role in developing future pilots, engineers, and leaders, and Teton Valley is emerging as a model for how communities can build a strong aviation pipeline. Through a combination of local programs and national partnerships, students are being introduced to aviation earlier, more effectively, and with greater access than ever before.

Economist Stephen Moore’s Cherry-Picked Jobs Claims
8/9/2025 (Featured in This TikTok) The Economist Stephen Moore cherry picked data to present in the newly decorated oval office. He claims the BLS Overstated Biden Jobs by nearly 1.5 million. The faults are egregious. Moore is sufficiently educated to knows what he’s doing. Therefore, it was a lie. To verify it myself, I went to the vintage BLS dataset that tracks every single revision through time. I, then, replicated his graph. The first mistake is his use of a preliminary benchmark.

An optimized SP3 sample processing workflow for in-depth and re-producible phosphoproteomics
Abstract Protein phosphorylation is a ubiquitous post-translational modification (PTM) found across the kingdoms of life, and is critical for the regulation of protein function in health & disease. Advances in high-throughput mass spectrometry have transformed our ability to interrogate the phosphoproteome. However, sample preparation methodologies optimized for phosphoproteomics have not kept pace, compromising the ability to fully exploit these technological advances.

1 Introduction In Arabia, there has been much interest in land restoration since 2021, thanks to the launching of the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI), and the Middle East Green Initiative (MGI) with their respective goals of establishing 10 and 50 billion trees over the coming decades1. The expected areas to be restored will be 0.75 million km2 in Saudi Arabia2 and 2 million km2 across the Middle East.
Muscle stem cell activation in response to acute injury is promoted by transient exposure to neutrophil elastase
Abstract The molecular mechanisms underlying the activation of muscle stem cells in response to skeletal muscle injury are complex and only beginning to be elucidated since new tools were developed in the last decade.

005: Space for Creativity
Physical spaces that make good use of color, art, and ingenuity can contribute to overall performance. However, creating a physical space for creativity to thrive is not the only important factor; we also need to make psychological, emotional, and energetic space for it. This includes fostering collaboration, scaffolding free association, and providing a safe space for us to steal from our subconscious.
004: Process
Ever come across the phrase “Trust the Process” on a T-shirt or poster? Commonly used across sports, “Trust the Process” means having patience and being committed to a way of working that may take time to yield results but ultimately leads to efficiency and success. When we think about our job, the value of what we create is closely tied to the experience we bring.
003: Recruitment
Playing with people who share a similar philosophy is a joy, both on and off the field. It forms the foundation for understanding and allows us to anticipate each other’s moves. That’s why the best teams and organizations have a clear philosophy deeply intertwined with their identity and success. Results, combined with values and philosophy, attract new players who want to be part of that legacy and push it forward.
002: Philosophy
When you ask an athlete what they love about their sport, you’ll get a deeply personal answer. It’s the culmination of their lifetime of experiences, whether it’s the thrill of breaking ankles, the satisfaction of hard work paying off, the joy of winning, or the sense of camaraderie with their team. All of these things together form their philosophy on what makes the sport great and how it should be played. This idea of philosophy extends beyond individual players and applies to the entire team.
Considerations for defining +80 Da mass shifts in mass spectrometry-based proteomics: phosphorylation and beyond
Considerations for defining +80 Da mass shifts in mass spectrometry-based proteomics: phosphorylation and beyond Post-translational modifications (PTMs) are ubiquitous and key to regulating protein function. Understanding the dynamics of individual PTMs and their biological roles requires robust characterisation. Mass spectrometry (MS) is the method of choice for the identification and quantification of protein modifications.

Ca2+-activated sphingomyelin scrambling and turnover mediate ESCRT-independent lysosomal repair - Nature Communications
Abstract Lysosomes are vital organelles vulnerable to injuries from diverse materials. Failure to repair or sequester damaged lysosomes poses a threat to cell viability. Here we report that cells exploit a sphingomyelin-based lysosomal repair pathway that operates independently of ESCRT to reverse potentially lethal membrane damage. Various conditions perturbing organelle integrity trigger a rapid calcium-activated scrambling and cytosolic exposure of sphingomyelin.

Reactive Video slows onscreen instructors to stay in sync with viewers
When trying to learn a physical skill such as judo or yoga from a video, it can be frustrating if you're not able to keep up with the onscreen action. That's where Reactive Video playback comes in, as its slows videos down to match the speed of their viewers. The system is being developed via a collaboration between Britain's Lancaster University, California's Stanford University, and the FX Palo Alto Laboratory research center.

Pandemic Aftermath: The Rise Of Interstate Depositions And Discovery
With global commerce massively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, post-pandemic litigation will undoubtedly result in a rise of interstate depositions and discovery. In turn, litigants engaged in actions pending outside of New York State will seek depositions and discovery from individuals and businesses residing in New York. As a result, New York attorneys will likely be asked to provide guidance or even be retained to assist litigants in these endeavors.

Framing Climate Change: Economics, Ideology, and Uncertainty in American News Media Content From 1988 to 2014
Introduction News media shape public attitudes on a variety of topics, and climate change is no different. Commentators attribute much of the blame for Republican climate denial to conservative news outlets like Fox News, which have been found to disseminate misinformation on climate science. However, Fox News represents only a small part of the news media environment, more important is the content of climate change news content in widely consumed mainstream news outlets.

Heightening Uncertainty Around Certain Science: Media Coverage, False Balance, and the Autism-Vaccine Controversy
To investigate how balanced presentations of the autism-vaccine controversy influence judgments of vaccine risk, we randomly assigned 327 participants to news articles that presented balanced claims both for and against an autism-vaccine link, antilink claims only, prolink claims only, or unrelated information. Readers in the balanced condition were less certain that vaccines did not cause autism and more likely to believe experts were divided on the issue.

The effect of falsely balanced reporting of the autism-vaccine controversy on vaccine safety perceptions and behavioral intentions
Controversy surrounding an autism–vaccine link has elicited considerable news media attention. Despite being widely discredited, research suggests that journalists report this controversy by presenting claims both for and against a link in a relatively ‘balanced’ fashion.

Idealization, abstraction and the ontic view of explanation
Add to your list(s) Download to your calendar using vCal If you have a question about this talk, please contact Christopher Clarke. The ontic causal-mechanical view of explanation holds that models are explanatory insofar as they convey information about those mechanisms responsible for a phenomenon of interest. A common criticism of this view is that it fails to account for the explanatory practices of science.
