I’m drawn toward the stories of people in movement -- migrant workers, refugees, asylum seekers. Over the years, I've published on international development, human rights, peace and conflict in diverse contexts. In Canada, I conduct workshops on disinformation and media literacy training for the Centre québécois de l'éducation aux médias et à l'information for local high schools and community centres.

Christopher Chanco explores a convoluted system. Mamadou Batchily first laid eyes on his partner Diallo in Diéma, a small town in southwest Mali. For months, Batchily would travel from the village where he was raised, about an hour's walk away, to go see her at the restaurant where she worked.
