A desperate five-hour rescue operation involving the NSPCA, local emergency services, veterinary professionals and members of the community saved the life of a pony that became trapped in a bog hole in County Offaly this week. The NSPCA was alerted by the Offaly Dog Warden after reports that a pony had become stuck in a bog and was sinking. NSPCA Inspector McCormack responded immediately, locating the exhausted animal struggling to stay above the surface.
