During the first four days of the Calgary Stampede, the city got bombarded with 70 noise complaints. After investigations from community safety officers, Badlands, an electric dance music festival, was struck with tickets for failing to lower their music below the allowable decibel limit.

An anti-Zionist protester displayed a series of panels identifying Jewish people in the area that he deemed to be “zionists” at Bathurst Street and Sheppard Avenue in Toronto. The area has a large Jewish population and has been the target of anti-zionist protesters since the Hamas-led massacre and mass kidnapping in Israel on October 7, 2023. The man identified by X user Leviathan and independent journalist Caryma Sa’d as Dave Perks did not respond to Juno News’ requests for comment.

In Oshawa’s downtown, an area with the most condensed number of social services in Durham Region, surging numbers of homeless, and ubiquitous flagrant drug use, one city council candidate is pledging to restore safe streets, end paraphernalia handouts, and investigate allegations of Toronto sending waves of homeless to the city.
