What does it mean to be a journalist?
To me, being a journalist means finding the stories only I could tell and, more importantly, bolstering voices that might not have a platform

A notebook, Google Docs, and a pedal for transcribing interviews.

Why did you become a journalist?
Because I love storytelling and the act of finding the thread of a story through research, interviews, etc.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Yes, I was a film critic. My review for the third Hobbit film was 400 words of VERY high school writing.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I wrote a personal story about struggling with eating disorders. That story holds a special place in my heart.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Keep writing. Refuse to write for exposure. Find a beat, make it your world, and stick to it.

1000 words for exposure for a site that never even existed!
What's your favorite drink?
Coffee.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Running, at a local eatery, or reading a trashy sci-fi novel.

Atlanta Magazine, Polygon, or various local zines.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That all I do is play video games for a living, or that marketing/copywriting is easy.
