As voters continue to make their way to polling stations nationwide, there’s growing uncertainty among Democrats and Republicans that the results will be in their favor. Contentions continue to rise over gubernatorial, mayoral and representative races, but the fight for control of the Senate has garnered major publicity in the months leading up to the election. Democrats hold 14 seats that are up for reelection this cycle, while Republicans hold 21.

In the aftermath of Kanye West’s antisemitic statements via Twitter and various public platforms, there’s growing concern among Jewish communities that antisemitism will now be on the rise. Despite the suspension of his Twitter account on October 9 over a tweet calling for the endangerment of Jewish people, West, who has since changed his name to Ye, continued to make dangerous comments about Jewish people on podcasts and television segments.

Fentanyl overdose rocks another SoCal highschool

Two weeks ago, 15-year-old Melanie Ramos died from a fentanyl-related death. Ramos was found unresponsive in a bathroom in Hollywood’s Bernstein High School after consuming a fentanyl-laced pill. Her death was the 7th known fentanyl-related poisoning the district had seen since the semester began in August. Following public outcry over her death, the LA Unified School District announced it will now supply naloxone to all LAUSD schools.
