ST. MICHAEL — The Detroit Lakes track and field team had a lighter schedule on Day 2 of the Class AA state track and field tournament at St. Michael-Albertville High School on Thursday, June 12. The Lakers were busy on Day 1 , with the prelims and some field event championships taking place. Coye Braton secured a sixth-place finish in the pole vault, and teammates wrapped up their careers at Detroit Lakes. Junior Alonna Moench was the lone Laker to participate on the second day in the pole vault.

ST. MICHAEL — Fans filled the stands at St. Michael-Albertville High School for the Class AA state track and field meet, and the Perham Yellowjackets buzzed to several successful finishes on Thursday, June 12. After a jam-packed day of prelims on Wednesday , the Yellowjackets carried over that good fortune to the championship events. The 4x800-meter relay team of Dylan Guck, Henry Mathiason, Carter Flatau, and Matt Jorgenson accomplished their dream of becoming state champions.

PERHAM — The Perham track and field team has felt right at home after joining Class AA two years ago. This season, the Yellowjackets had a successful Day 1 at St. Michael-Albertville High School for the state track meet on Wednesday, June 11. The Yellowjackets saw two individuals and a relay team qualify in the prelims to advance to the state finals on Thursday. Junior Matt Jorgenson secured a spot in the finals after he placed second in the 800-meter dash with a new PR time of 1:54.79.
