Player Participation Contracts Quickly Pulled By Polymarket

Polymarket has reversed course on a new line of NFL prediction contracts, pulling its self-certified player participation filings from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission just a day after submitting them. The withdrawal covers a Patrick Mahomes-specific contract as well as a broader certification for other players to be named throughout the season. Polymarket‘s decision comes on the heels of Kalshi self-certifying similar contracts, and proceeding as planned.

Rocha: Kalshi Could Become Regulated Sports Betting Operator

Victor Rocha, Conference Chair of the Indian Gaming Association, believes there’s a world in which Kalshi could become a regulated sports betting operator in the future. “Mark my words, Kalshi is going to pivot to sports betting, because that’s where the money is,” Rocha said on The New Normal podcast on Wednesday. Prediction markets have been offering sports event contracts, which are federally regulated under the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, in nearly every state since early 2025.
