The hike to Circlet Lake, set in a huge open cirque, was long but not overly difficult for me, my wife and nine-year old son. The terrain was rolling, but without big climbs. The trail was rocky in places, but well-groomed with extensive boardwalks across saturated stretches. We left the trailhead mid-morning on a partly sunny August day. The temperature was perfect. Warm enough for just one layer with a low sweat factor.
