Interview

What was your first job as a journalist?

I began writing about art, exhibitions and cultural projects while working in cultural communication, gradually combining editorial work with photography and visual storytelling.

How is social media changing news?

Social media has made news faster, more visual and more immediate, but it has also changed the way attention works. Sometimes the challenge is no longer access to information, but finding depth and context.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

I’m drawn to fictional characters who pay attention to details and human stories rather than classic newsroom journalists.

What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?

Any use of #BreakingNews for something completely trivial.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

My work moves between text and visual storytelling, so I’m usually switching between notebooks, a Leica, an iPhone and editing software.

What's your favorite social network?

Instagram. Despite its contradictions, it remains one of the most interesting spaces for visual culture, photography and contemporary creative narratives.

Who do you wish followed you?

People with a curious eye and a genuine interest in art, culture and visual narratives.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

No, my path into editorial and cultural work came later, through art, cultural communication and visual storytelling.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Develop your own perspective. In cultural journalism, sensitivity, curiosity and a recognizable voice matter as much as access or speed.

What's the best pitch you ever got?

Usually the quietest ones: projects with a strong story, a human perspective and a clear sense of why they matter.

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

Anything starting with “Dear journalist” and ending with a completely unrelated press release.

What's your favorite drink?

Usually tea

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

Apartamento. It feels intimate, visual and culturally curious in a way I really enjoy.
