Children often start to see gender as fixed at a young age, which affects their understanding and beliefs. Teaching kids that gender is flexible can help them think more deeply and reduce essentialist beliefs. Gender essentialism, which has long been discredited by psychologists, is the belief that men and women are fundamentally different due to biological factors.
