Serum anti-β2 spectrin IgA antibodies are produced in a CD4 T cell-independent manner in IgA nephropathy model mouse
Abstract Introduction: IgA nephropathy (IgAN) is characterized by deposition of IgA antibodies (Abs) in the glomerular mesangium. In IgAN, the mechanism by which IgA Abs are selectively deposited in the glomerular mesangial region remain unclear. Current study reported the presence of autoantibodies-IgA against β2 spectrin of mesangial cells in sera of IgAN model mice (gddY) and patients with IgAN, and identified β2-spectrin as the target antigen.
Mouse pulmonary interstitial macrophages mediate the pro-tumorigenic effects of IL-9 - Nature Communications
Abstract Although IL-9 has potent anti-tumor activity in adoptive cell transfer therapy, some models suggest that it can promote tumor growth. Here, we show that IL-9 signaling is associated with poor outcomes in patients with various forms of lung cancer, and is required for lung tumor growth in multiple mouse models. CD4+ T cell-derived IL-9 promotes the expansion of both CD11c+ and CD11c− interstitial macrophage populations in lung tumor models.
A novel cancer immunotherapy using tumor-infiltrating B cells in the APCmin/+ mouse model

Metabolic Reprogramming Induces Germinal Center B Cell Differentiation through Bcl6 Locus Remodeling
Highlights • IL-4-signaling induces Bcl6 expression and GC B cell differentiation • IL-4 alters TCA cycle to accumulate αKG, a cofactor for H3K27-demethylase • STAT6 recruits H3K27-demethylase UTX, leading to activation of the Bcl6 locus • GC B cell development requires αKG and enzymes regulating αKG level Summary The germinal center (GC) reaction is essential for long-lived humoral immunity.
Tracing Self-Reactive B Cells in Normal Mice
Takuya Nojima, Alexander E. Reynolds, Daisuke Kitamura, Garnett Kelsoe and Masayuki Kuraoka J Immunol July 1, 2020, 205 (1) 90-101; DOI: https://doi.org/10.4049/jimmunol.1901015 Key Points Single-cell culture approach revealed B cell tolerance checkpoints in normal mice. Self-reactivity is elevated in T3 and CD93+ and CD93− anergic B cells in spleen. Both the lifespan and the signaling capacity of BCR vary among self-reactive B cells.
