NEBRASKA CITY – The Otoe County Courthouse in Nebraska City was among 796 officials locations nationally to participate in the Sharing the Spirit of America initiative with a simultaneous reading of the Declaration of Independence. Tammy Partsch of the America 250: Nebraska City Committee said the original declaration was read out loud at three locations in 1776 – Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Easton, Penn., and Trenton, New Jersey.
