Game of Thrones' Gemma Whelan has revealed her mother drowned last year, in a devastating tribute one year on. The actress, best known for playing Yara Greyjoy in the series, hadn't spoken about the death of her mum, Sue, until now. On the anniversary of her mother's death, Gemma, 45, took to social media to pay tribute to her mum. Gemma, who also stars in Gentleman Jack, said that the previous year had been "awful" as she navigated the heartbreak of grief and loss.

Lauren Bennett's dad Richard has spoken out after her death at the age of 36. He has said the GRL singer had suffered a "severe reaction to a prescribed medication" in the months prior to her death. Lauren, who sang on hit song Party Rock Anthem, sadly died on May 29 . Police confirmed on Tuesday (July 7) that a call had been made regarding concerns for Lauren's welfare. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

GRL singer Lauren Bennett tragically passed away following "concerns for her welfare". The vocalist, known for her feature on LMFAO's 2011 chart-topper Party Rock Anthem, was only 36 at the time of her passing. Kent Police confirmed to the Mirror: "Kent Police was called to an address in Meopham at about 2pm on Friday 29 May 2026 following concerns for the welfare of a person. Officers attended, along with SECAMB and a woman in her 30s was pronounced deceased.
