Luxembourg’s Air Rescue said it is responding to a major health incident aboard a cruise ship off Cape Verde hit by hantavirus and will transport two people back to their home country. Particular caution is required as the World Health Organisation (WHO) assumes the hantavirus cases on the Atlantic cruiser were spread through human-to-human transmission, WHO expert Maria Van Kerkhove said at a press conference in Geneva. Air Rescue has prepared for this, it told the Luxemburger Wort.

Gilles Zeimet has resigned with immediate effect as director of Luxembourg’s national archive for photography, film and sound, Centre national de l’audiovisuel (CNA), following mounting criticism and allegations that he has misled deputies about the conditions in which a Unesco-listed collection of historic photographs were displayed.
