COLUMBUS — Gov. Mike DeWine on Tuesday endorsed businessman Vivek Ramaswamy to succeed him as governor. While Mr. Ramaswamy has racked up early endorsements from the Ohio Republican Party and other statewide GOP leaders, Mr. DeWine had argued it was too early to endorse but promised he would support the Republican nominee. Mr. DeWine announced the endorsement shortly after Mr. Ramaswamy selected Ohio Senate President Rob McColley (R., Napoleon) as his running mate.

Amy Acton selects David Pepper as running mate

COLUMBUS — Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton announced Wednesday that former Ohio Democratic Party Chairman David Pepper will join her ticket as the candidate for lieutenant governor. Mr. Pepper, an attorney, has also served as a Cincinnati city councilman and Hamilton County commissioner. Additionally, he ran an unsuccessful campaign for Ohio attorney general in 2014. “I am proud to select David Pepper as my lieutenant governor,” Ms. Acton said.

COLUMBUS -— Ohio Senate President Rob McColley (R., Napoleon) will be the lieutenant governor candidate running alongside Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. The Ramaswamy campaign said Mr. McColley will officially be announced as Mr. Ramaswamy’s running mate on Wednesday morning, ahead of a special event in Cleveland Wednesday night.
