LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – With the world’s largest high school rodeo in town, horses are on the minds of many. This is especially true for those on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Equestrian team. The nearly 60 student equestrians on the team aren’t horsing around when it comes to being the strongest and most stable masters of their rodeo either. In light of the new school year, the team is asking for help obtaining up to 30 horses as part of its horse donation and lease program.

HALLAM, Neb. (KLKN) – The community of Hallam has less than 300 people. It’s a farming community amidst an evolving landscape; within a mile of the village is a solar farm and several power plants. Darin Schwaninger has lived in Hallam his entire life, and says, “It’s really changed the nature of the area. We’re a lot more of an industrial area now.” Hallam is now anticipating a major change within their own jurisdiction- a potential data center.

MALCOLM, Neb. (KLKN) – It was not your everyday scene inside the walls of a Malcolm Public School on Wednesday. Instead of students, there were deputies and medics; training under the leadership of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s office. You could feel the intensity in the air as participants remained focused on their lessons for the Active Violence and Medic Tactical training. There were about 25 deputies and 15 medics taking part.
