OSCEOLA, Neb. (KLKN) — Randy Johnson, a former teacher and current track coach at York Public Schools (YPS), was killed in an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident. The accident occurred on Highway 92, east of the F Road intersection. The Polk County Police Dispatch received a call around 6 a.m. reporting the accident. A pickup was following Johnson’s ATV going westbound. The truck struck the ATV, the driver reporting they did not see the ATV. Johnson, 70, was ejected from the ATV into the ditch.

The heat is getting turned down
The extreme heat and humidity is about to come to an end. In its place will be cooler temperatures and rain chances! The Heat Advisory and Extreme Heat Warning will continue into Monday evening, expiring before midnight. Cooler air will then push its way in. That cooler air will be coming our way as a cold front (see above), which may spark a few storms tonight. There is a chance for some strong storms, but mainly in Iowa.
Lincoln man arrested after throwing handgun while running from officers
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — This morning around 3:40 a.m., an officer made a traffic stop for a crosswalk violation. According to Lincoln Police Department (LPD), he became argumentative and refused to provide information the officers requested. The pedestrian, 45-year-old Ramon Enriquez Jr., ran away as the officers tried to take him into custody. As Enriquez ran, he threw his phone and handgun on the ground. An officer deployed his Taser which allowed officers to take Enriquez into custody.
Lincoln Airport offers pieces of Runway 18/36 as keepsakes

Runway 18/36 was constructed nearly 70 years ago. Some portions of its original construction were still present before the reconstruction.
Athlete of the week: Ollie Foral
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — As the Cornhusker State games wrapped up this weekend, Norris teenager Ollie Foral took home a gold medal in footgolf. The competition was held at Jim Agers golf course where several different age groups competed. Foral took part in the 9 hole event, shooting a 29. His father Doug, says Ollie has always been the ultimate competitor. “He’s a kid that loves competition. He just likes to get out and go as hard as he can,” said Doug Foral.
