The Best Gifts for Dads This Holiday Season
Whenever I ask people who they need gift ideas for, dads are almost always at the top of the list. They’ll say they don’t need anything, and the dad who has everything usually means it. My benchmark for a good dad gift comes from my husband’s first Father’s Day, when I gave him a bocce ball set. Our daughter obviously couldn’t play with it yet, but there was something really sweet about giving him a family game that he’d be able to play with her someday.
The Best Stocking Stuffers for Teens
I don’t have teens yet, but some of my close friends, do, and this was an especially fun guide to create. I was a teen once, you know, and I think I have a good idea of what’s cool. So I rounded up the best stocking stuffers for teens: small, fun, and actually useful things they’ll be excited to find. There’s a mix of beauty favorites, tech, fidgets, sports, and sweet treats, plus a few gift cards, because teens always love those.
The Best Laundry Baskets and Hampers (That Are Actually Pretty)
I just finished designing my new closet, which is roughly half the size of my old one. In an effort to maximize shelves and hanging space, I opted to leave out a built-in hamper, but still needed a place to put dirty laundry. I planned on finding a pretty hamper that I can either put near my double hang or full-length mirror. In a closet this size, a hamper isn’t tucked away in a corner. It is right there.

Planning a Lilo and Stitch Birthday Party in One Week
My daughter Kate just turned six, and Stitch has been her favorite little alien for the last year or so. When she asked for a Lilo and Stitch party, I said yes immediately — and then proceeded to start planning exactly one week before her birthday. While I am not a party expert, I am an anxious virgo who loves to make magic for my kids. This was one of my favorite party themes so far — everything was so cute, and I found some relatively easy decor ideas.

The Best Amazon Prime Day Deals
For me, Prime Day is not about buying more stuff. It’s about getting the things that have been on my list for a while, or stocking up on essentials. I went through everything I own before putting this post together, which made it a lot easier to edit down to the things worth sharing.. The deals on tech and home essentials are so good, and they won’t last long.
The Summer Style Edit
When it comes to shopping for a seasonal wardrobe, I tend to find something I love and wear it on repeat. My summer wardrobe has looked more or less the same for years — linen, poplin, easy silhouettes, neutral colors that all work together without too much effort. It’s not the most exciting, but it makes getting dressed really simple, which is all I want when it’s hot. This summer, I’m all about timeless pieces in great silhouettes that I feel really good in.
Bluey Is Finally a Tonie!
If you have a Toniebox in your house (and if you have kids under 8 there’s a good chance that you do) this news is going to make your day. After years of wondering and waiting, it’s finally happening. They’re making a Bluey Tonie! I repeat: THEY’RE MAKING A BLUEY TONIE! The Tonies x Bluey collection is available for pre-order today at Tonies and Target, and I’ll be shocked if they don’t sell out within a few hours. If you’re not familiar with the Toniebox, it’s a screen-free audio player for kids.
The Best Summer Skincare and Beauty Products (That I Swear By)
Let’s talk about summer skincare. I have really dry, fair skin, so my routine is all about staying hydrated and protected. I always start with a facial oil or rich cream, then moisturizer, then SPF. I never skip SPF, but really stay on top of it in summer months. For coverage and a little glow I reach for my Merit tinted mineral sunscreen and my DIBS products every single day. And I self tan every week without fail because I like to look alive.
The Best Family Games for Game Night
I love a family game night. Now that my girls are a little older, we love to pull out our favorite games after their little brother goes to bed. I can’t wait until he can join, but he’s only three, so we’re not quite there yet. We’ve been on a Go Fish kick for years, and I’m so happy we left the Candyland and Chutes and Ladders era. With a no-camp summer ahead of us, game nights are happening a lot more around here.
One tragic summer exposed the hidden danger inside parked cars
As summer heat builds across Georgia, it's a good time to remember how quickly temperatures can rise inside a parked vehicle. On this day in 1995, a series of tragic incidents across metro Atlanta brought that danger into sharp focus. The summer of 1995 included several heartbreaking cases involving children and extreme heat inside vehicles. On June 8, three-year-old twins in College Park died after climbing into their mother's car and becoming trapped inside.
The Best Gifts for 8 Year Olds in 2026
Eight is a really fun age to shop for — they know exactly what they want. They’re past the obvious little kid stuff but they’re still little (just don’t tell them that). Eight is the age where they have real opinions, real interests, and a pretty good sense of what’s cool. So I put together a list of the best gifts that actually reflect that. My (almost) eight-year-old asked for scented hand sanitizer, Mini Brands, and lip gloss. But she also wants more tiny things for her dollhouse.
Free May Tech Backgrounds
May always feels like the turning point. The flowers finally begin to bloom, the weather warms up, farmers markets come back to life, and everything starts to feel a little more hopeful. This month’s tech backgrounds are inspired by all the my favorite signs of spring — hydrangeas, lilacs, tulips, and everything that blooms. There’s a mix of soft pastels, fresh greens, and a few moodier florals, too. As always, they’re free to download on the blog for your computer, iPad, and phone.
The ADHD Hobbies You Can Start Today
When you have ADHD, there’s a very specific kind of optimism that comes with starting a new hobby. After doing a puzzle with my friend, I not only bought a chic new puzzle (yes, that’s a thing) but I also had to get the rotating puzzle board complete with drawers to organize pieces by color and type. I’ve convinced myself that I’m the kind of person who will take on needlepointing, watercolor, and diamond painting.
Furniture and Decor Sources For Our New House
We’ve been in our 90(ish) year-old house for four years now, and it’s been a project fixing up this old home. From new drain tile and rebuilding chimneys to all new plumbing, bathrooms, flooring, and lots of decor, we have loved making this house a home.
It wasn’t until I became a mom that this day became a happy one for me. I didn’t have that mother-daughter relationship I dreamed of, get to have it with my girls, and now, my baby boy. Moms and those who fill those roles for us are amazing and deserve to be celebrated. My husband asked what I wanted and I said…”umm, a night at a hotel alone?” except I have a new baby so that’s not happening this year. I do think I’ll book a massage and enjoy an hour of relaxation.
The Ultimate Family Packing List
Traveling with three kids means there is a lot to think about before we ever leave the house. My kids are now 7, 5, and almost 3, and over the years, I’ve figured out a little trick to make sure you have everything you need. About two weeks before any trip, I go through everyone’s clothes to make sure my kids have everything we need in the right sizes. I started doing this after realizing I didn’t have a sun hat for my son just days before our trip.
The Best Toys and Gifts for 3 Year Olds
If you’ve ever spent good money on a toy that your toddler played with for five minutes and never touched again, this list is for you. I’ve had plenty of hits and misses in the toy department. I’m about to enter this stage for the third time, with my youngest turning three in just a few short weeks. I know exactly what 3 year olds actually gravitate toward, and I’m sharing all my tried-and-true favorites right here.
Spring Break Outfit Ideas
We are headed to Mexico for a family trip in a few weeks, and I don’t need much since I have the most essential items for a beach vacation. But I wanted to get something fun for a date night, along with some casual knit and linen pants for beach days. My personal style is pretty classic, with a neutral color palette, but I do enjoy a pop of color for spring and summer.
New Puppy Checklist: Everything You Need for Your New Dog
As a mom of three young kids, I thought it would be a good idea to add more chaos to our home. So we recently adopted a rescue puppy. I did a ton of research on the best products to get us through the puppy stage and beyond. Now that we’ve had her for a few weeks, I want to share some of my favorite puppy essentials. So far, potty training has been the hardest part. But we’re working on it, and giving lots of positive reinforcement when she goes outside.
Must-Have Kids Cold Essentials for Cold and Flu Season
Cold and flu season hits all of us eventually. The winter months can be brutal for young children, and I can imagine that frantically looking for a working thermometer at 2AM is something no parent wants to do. As a mom of three, I’ve managed everything from mild sniffles and flu symptoms to RSV and Strep. And after almost 8 years of parenting, and 2 of those years spent parenting an immunocompromised child, I am ready for illnesses.
Divorce & Radical Honesty with Scarlett Longstreet
A few weeks ago, I sat down with writer Scarlett Longstreet. I found Scarlett on Instagram when a reel came up of her resetting her home, where she talked about needing to call the police on her mom. Her honesty was so refreshing. I had to talk to her. I reached out and asked if she would be open to sharing her story with me. It wasn’t long after that I subscribed to her Substack. She’s a phenomenal writer, and I just dove right in.
A Review of the Lightweight and Compact Zoe Twin Stroller
As a mom of three who has tested countless strollers over the years, I’ve learned that not all strollers are created equal. I’ve tested everything from high-end single strollers and full travel systems to double strollers that promised to make life easier. Because of the unique position I’m in as a content creator or “influencer,” (don’t love that word) I’ve been able to try more strollers than most.
Content and Neurodivergence with Minna Lee Jamison
In Episode 9 of Tell Me Everything, host Danielle Moss talks with Minna Lee Jamison about Minna’s journey from personal trainer to content creator, her late diagnoses of autism and ADHD, and how these have shaped her life. They discuss caregiving for loved ones with cancer, Minna’s own cancer diagnosis, self-advocacy in healthcare, surviving abusive relationships, and navigating mental health.
The Best Aesthetic Trash Cans (That Are Actually Cute)
Trash cans aren’t the most exciting purchase, but we all use them every single day. Everyone needs somewhere to put crumpled-up paper towels and food scraps, so love them or hate them, they’re an essential item for both the kitchen & bathroom. If you’re someone who thinks about small details like I do, chances are you’re going to look for a trash can that’s aesthetically pleasing. Even the most basic items (like trash cans) can serve as finishing touches when it comes to design.
The Samsung Frame TV: Designed to Blend In, Not Stand Out
I’m not an expert on technology, but I do fancy myself a bit of a gadget person. From our garage door opener and security cameras to tiny handheld video cameras and televisions that look like art, I appreciate tech that’s well-designed, simple enough for me to figure out, and actually improves everyday life. Most tech reviews are technical, breaking down all the things I know nothing about. I’m here to talk about Samsung’s The The Frame TV, and how it looks and feels in my space.
Everybody's So Punk on the Internet
I don’t want to give any time or attention to people who don’t deserve it. From our president to online bullies, there is unfortunately not a shortage of angry and unwell people who seem to spend their days being mean on the internet. It has to be said that there are wonderful people out there, too. I have been able to connect with some truly incredible people.
The 42 Best Toys and Gifts for 5 Year Olds
I love 5 year-olds. Kids in this age group are a lot more independent and capable while still being young and sweet. If you’re looking for the perfect gift for a 5 year-old this holiday season, I’ve put together a list with everything from the best toys and craft supplies to the coziest stuffed animals and even some non-toy gifts, too. Whether you’re shopping for birthday party season, a birthday gift for your own child, or the holidays, you’re sure to find some great gift ideas in this gift guide.
The Black Friday Edit
Is it just me or are the Black Friday sales especially good this year? I rounded up all of my favorites on my blog and keep adding to the post because new sales keep popping up. I also created a few Black Friday sections in my Amazon Shop, too. From bedding to beauty and holiday gifts, this is a great time to buy something you need. I want to call out a few new sales You can get 20% off everything at Tiny Tags. I wear my name tag necklace every day and am adding a charm for Buddy.
Introducing Tell Me Everything
I’ve always believed that real connection starts with honest conversation. The kind where talk about what’s really going on and stop pretending everything is fine when it’s not. That’s what I’ve tried to do on my blog, Substack, and on Instagram. It’s fun putting together gift guides, capsule wardrobes, and sharing house projects. But it’s all about connection for me. The most meaningful work I can do is share what I’ve been through, and help others feel less alone.
When Is A Child Ready to Transition Out of a Booster Seat
Many parents assume there’s a right time or magic age to transition your child from a booster seat. There isn’t a crystal clear answer. The safest way to keep young children protected in the car is to follow child passenger safety laws and the guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). These recommendations focus less on age and more on the child’s size, maturity, and how they fit in the vehicle’s seat.
The Best Health and Wellness Gifts to Give This Season
There’s something so special about giving a gift that encourages someone to take care of themselves. Whether it’s a pair of yoga pants, supplement, or tools to get their body moving, these self care finds go beyond the typical gift. They’re the kind of things that help us rest, recharge, and bring a little calm to our busy lives. This gift guide is filled with meaningful gifts that promote mental clarity, relaxation, and movement.
Why We Chose California over FL
When my girls were two and four, we took a three day trip to Disneyland and California Adventure in Anaheim, California. It’s the most magical place to take little kids, and we had so many great moments that I’ll never forget. I didn’t feel torn between Disneyland vs Disney World since I grew up in LA and know Disneyland so well. I want to share my experience at the Magic Kingdom with my girls.
The Easy Way to Get Slime Out of Clothes
Two summers ago,I took my kids to Sloomoo, a slime museum in downtown Chicago. They had a blast! It’s a great way to pass a few hours when it’s too hot, too cold, or raining. We had managed to avoid gooey slime until then, but once they were introduced, they were hooked. As any parent can attest, slime seems fun, but it’s also kind of the worst. It’s only a matter of time before you’re in a sticky situation, with slime all over your kids’ clothes.
Environmental Update: The wet season and stormwater pollution
The arrival of fall starts the official “wet season” in California, and whether or not we get rain (and we really hope we do!), it’s always good to remember stormwater pollution prevention tips. When rain runs off the roofs and pavement from the places where we live, shop, work and play, it flows onto streets and sidewalks, then enters the city’s storm drain system via storm drain inlets along the street gutters.
Our Spooky Chic Halloween Decor
I don’t like scary movies and never cared much for Halloween. But then I became a mom and love nothing more than making things fun and festive for my kids. I’m excited to share our spooky (and chic) Halloween decor today. Some of the decor I’ve had for years, and I was lucky enough to partner with Grandin Road who sent some pillars, tombstones, and a new skeleton wreath.
WAYB Pico Portable Travel Car Seat Review (Not Sponsored)
After traveling with 2 convertible car seats, I vowed to make my recent trip to Los Angeles with my 3 and 5 year-olds easier. And I found one of the best new travel products that I am so excited about! My 5 year-old isn’t big enough for a booster seat yet, so I ended up purchasing the WAYB Pico seat for both girls. Traveling with a portable car seat made our travel days so much easier. I have a 9 month old, too, so we should get a decent amount of use out of both.
September Discount Codes
I have some new discount codes for you, and it’s been a long time since I’ve shared my old ones, too. I have codes for everything from my favorite jeans and leggings to my beauty essentials and even the best (healthy, protein packed) ramen. Butcherbox: I love Butcherbox! It’s so high quality, humanely raised, and makes meal planning so much easier. And the best part is how easy it is to customize your orders, and how often you get them, too. Use DANIELLE100 for $100 off.
Hospital Bag Checklist for Kids
I’ve spent more time than I’d like at the hospital with a toddler. My daughter went through medical treatment, so we spent about two weeks inpatient, and then visited the hospital regularly for the next year and-a-half. My son had a weeklong stay as a baby, and another overnight stay as a toddler. As a virgo, I like to be prepared for every scenario, and know that I’ve done everything I can to maximize ease and comfort for my kids and myself, too.
Chocolate Brown is the New Black: The Color to Wear This Fall
Chocolate brown is the color of the season. Rich, warm, and versatile, it flatters every hair color and skin tone. As someone with a fair complexion, I’ve found myself reaching for it more than ever. It feels classic but fresh, and warmer than black. This fall, I am fully leaning into the trend and already bought a jacket, sweater, bag, and shoes in the most perfect shade of chocolate brown. Here are my favorite chocolate brown pieces to wear this fall.
The Best Fall Shoes for Women in 2024
I love the fall season. The leaves are starting to change and the air is crisp. Cooler weather has our wardrobes shift from summer dresses and sandals to cozy sweaters and chelsea boots. Shoe trends for the upcoming season are all about blending fashion and function – going for comfort without sacrificing style. And for me, timeless classics coexisting with modern trends. Here’s my 2025 shoe edit and the best fall shoes for women.
Furniture and Decor for a Curated and Cozy Home
Creating a cozy home starts with choosing the right furniture. Pieces that make each room feel lived-in, and welcoming. From the sofa that anchors your living room to the accent chair that instantly transforms a corner into one of those cozy nooks, the right details make a house a home. If you’re looking for furniture for a new home, or layers, textures, and accessories to make your home feel like home, this one’s for you.
Free September Tech Backgrounds for your iPhone and Desktop
It’s September 1, and there are just 21 days left of summer. I’m holding on to the warm, sunny days, but the shift has already begun. The leaves in our yard are softening into shades of orange, mornings feel crisp, and evenings carry that first hint of fall. I love this in-between season, but am going to miss summer. There’s something about this time of year though. The way everything slowly transforms, a reset.
Our Garage Makeover: Before And After
Our garage was one of those spaces I would generally avoid. It was dirty, messy, and not a place I wanted to spend much time. But then came summer, and my kids were constantly in the garage grabbing their bikes and scooters. Being in the garage was unavoidable, and it didn’t have to be a beautiful space, but I hated being in there. So one day, I decided that it was time for a garage makeover. We would turn our garage into a clean and functional space.
Tropical Storm Fernand forms in the Atlantic
ATLANTA, Georgia — There’s a new storm to keep an eye on in the Atlantic. What started as a broad trough of low pressure a few hundred miles south-southeast of Bermuda has now become Tropical Storm Fernand, and it’s showing signs of getting stronger. An Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft flew into the system earlier today and found a well-defined center of circulation. The central pressure was measured at around 1010 millibars, and winds are currently sustained near 40 miles per hour.
Bathroom Ideas for a Cute and Functional Kids' Bath
When we bought our old house, we knew we would need to do a full bathroom renovation on each bathroom in our home. We started with our primary bathroom, and about two years later, took on the kids’ baths and the guest bathroom. I knew I wanted to do something simple and classic, and something that would work at any age. This is the room where my girls start their mornings. It’s where they brush their tiny teeth, and where they’ll eventually learn to tie a perfect ponytail in front of the mirror.
Back to School Outfits: Cute Outfit Ideas for Kids
It’s a new school year. Grab your pencil case and backpack and join me for a guide to back to school clothes I’m really excited for my girls to make new friends this year. And as fun as summer was, I’m happy we’re getting into a nice little groove for the upcoming school year. We’ve shopped for school supplies, started packing school lunches, and got our pre-kindergarten eye exam. It seems that start dates are all over the place, but most of us have had our first week of school.
