Around 3am in the morning of September 18, 2019, Pinal County Sheriff’s deputies received information that 23-year-old Christopher Rios was attempting to break into vehicles in the Johnson Ranch neighborhood. Deputies were able to locate the suspect but Rios became combative and resisted arrest when deputies attempted to take him into custody. Deputies were able to arrest Rios.

A zero tolerance traffic enforcement operation was conducted at every San Tan Valley school within the jurisdiction of PCSO on the mornings of July 30th and July 31st, 2019. Operation Safe Kids included resources from the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit and traffic units from Maricopa PD, Apache Junction PD, and Casa Grande PD in this combined effort. The two day operation focused on the 20 school zoned areas in San Tan Valley during the hours of 6:30am-9:00am.
