Marshall was best known in Acadiana for his “Contact 10” consumer reports that highlighted life challenges of locals, investigated them and resolved them. Marshall was the first Black news reporter in Acadiana and was a popular on-air personality and an award-winning journalist. He was employed at KLFY from 1978 to 1989.

Everything changed, Bourque said, and what she thought was normal, she found out wasn’t. That’s when she turned to music.
